Matthew Johnson - Owner

Matthew is the proud owner of Waggz & Whiskerz. Matthew is trained in Pet First Aid instruction through the Ontario Provincial Missing Animal response services. Matthew is an avid researcher in canine behavior and interactions. Matthew's professional development has included dog day care training, behavior and health training, dog/human interaction techniques, scent detection techniques and search and rescue tracking.Matthew is a certified dog trainer through The Proper Pet Care Society. When he's not caring for pets, Matthew can be found working on charitable events or playing with his dogs at several local parks. Matthew has been an active Philanthropist since June of 2000 & is a proud owner of 2 dogs and a little kitten.Matthew is also the host of Paws Talk, a TV show that explores the pet industry and those who are involved within. www.paws-talk.net

Margo Johnson - Owner

Margo began her career in the pet industry by boarding pets with Waggz and Whiskerz. She assists with our home style boarding and daycare services. Margo continues to evolve her skills and knowledge through assisting on group walks and private walks. She has been a pet owner since her childhood and has a fondness for dogs.Margo is a certified dog trainer through The Proper Pet Care Society. Margo is trained in the health profession and brings a wealth of knowledge to our organization. Margo is also certified in pet first aid and pet CPR and assists with our Pet First Aid Course.

Risa Johnson - Owner

Risa began her career in the pet industry by assisting on missing pet investigations with The Ontario Provincial Missing Animal Response Services. She is certified in pet first aid and has assisted with instruction for 2 years. Risa is a certified dog trainer through The Proper Pet Care Society. Her career with Waggz and Whiskerz started in 2008. Risa assists on group walks and also specializes in walking dogs for private walks.Risa also supervises our daycare services.Risa enjoys nature and spending time outdoors when her four legged friends aren't keeping her busy.

Lee Johnson - Owner

Lee began his career in the pet industry in 2005. He has assisted on search and rescue operations and is licensed as a Private Investigator.Lee is a lead investigator for OPMARS Lost Pet Services and Waggz & Whiskerz Lost Pet Services. He is trained in Pet First Aid and emergency pet care through the Ontario Provincial Missing Animal Response Services.Lee is a certified dog trainer through The Proper Pet Care Society.Lee manages our group walks in North York, and runs our Adventure Dayz & Game Dayz program.In his spare time he
works with reptiles and various charitable organizations.

Jennifer Cateaux - Manager

Jennifer began her career in the pet industry by boarding pets with Waggz and Whiskerz. She assists with our brand new daycare and boarding facility. Jennifer continues to evolve her skills and knowledge through assisting with our private nature trail walks and our indoor boarding facility as well as our outdoor activities.She has been a pet owner since her childhood and has a fondness for dogs.Jennifer is a certified dog groomer and assists with our in house grooming facility at our new Queensville location.Jennifer brings a great dynamic to our team!

Corina Grecu - Pet Massage Therapist

Corina joined Waggz & Whiskerz in 2009. She graduated from the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in the Faculty of Animal Husbandry & Biotechnology located in Timisoara, Romania. In 2003 she received the
Animal Health Representative diploma from the University of Guelph She has been working since 2004 as a veterinary technician.Thinking to do something very special she decided to become an animal massage therapist. She enrolled at the North West School of Animal Massage Therapy in WA, USA. She graduated in 2006. Corina would like to see massage therapy being practiced in all animal clinics.

Deb Brown - Head Groomer & Trainer

Deb joined Waggz & Whiskerz in the summer of 2010. She has shown and bred wheaten terriers and standard poodles since 1982.This is where she learned how to hand scissor, a special technique used for the show ring. Deb only use the finest shampoo's and rinses and always has all the right tricks to getting the best looks on every type coat.Deb has allot of experience working with special needs dogs & difficult dogs too. Deb starting grooming at Pampered Paws in Yorkville & ended up being a teacher for them.Deb is a certified a dog trainer for nearly 28 years. Deb trained and traveled with Dr. Ian Dunbar from California training vets and techs.Deb has a 141/2 year old standard poodle, a 12 year old wheaten,a 6 year old Chihuahua and a 9 year old cat.In her spare time Deb works with York Region St. John Ambulance with her poodle and wheaten which are therapy dogs.Debbie is the coordinator & evaluator for our new Puppy Kindergarten and Beginner Classes.Deb is our exclusive head groomer & one of our dog training staff & valued member of our team!

Alain Gauthier - Trainer

Alain joined Waggz & Whiskerz in Jan 2010.Alain is a graduate of National K9 School for Dog Trainers & has been training dogs for 12 years.Alain teaches, through basic obedience, a line of communication and respect that both owner and dog can understand, as well as, basic skills to use every day.Alain is our exclusive trainer for our Lost Pet Services Dogs and brings a wealth of knowledge to our team.
Alain Gauthier is also the owner/operator of Poop-Patrol. Alain lives in the GTA with his wife and children and is looking forward to picking up his new Small Munsterlander puppy.

Claudia Hehr - Pet Psychic

Claudia’s experience and work with dogs includes training for competition, protection work, tracking, agility and flyball, behavior consultation, grooming, animal first aid and shelter work.
